  I decided to use this local tax preparation business after receiving a coupon for a couple dollars off in the mail. at first I liked the idea of supporting a local business and the fact that it was owned and operated by a female was a plus. I met with Ms. Lewis and discussed my family and my small business' tax needs. During our brief conversation, I had Ms. Lewis specifically acknowledge my concern and I explained to her that I was in no way interested in paying upwards of $1,000 for tax preparation, and I was assured it would not be anything even close to that. She proceeded to do some quick math, and while holding ALL of my tax forms quotes me "about 10 hours at a rate of $45 per hour, so about $450". We proceeded to pay Ms. Lewis $250 and agreed the remaining balance would be paid upon receipt of MY tax refund. The IRS accepted the returns and around the middle of may I received my refund. I also received a bill from Lewis Accounting, for the remaining balance. Imagine my surprise, when the amount owed was not $200 but over $700. Ms. Lewis did not mention at any point that the quoted price of $450 was JUST ONE RETURN. As a working mother, a small business owner, head of my household, I am not made of money, and a $500 jump in price, that's not something I can pull out of thin air. I advised Ms. Lewis that I would have to make payments, that the 66% price increase took her from the #2 or #3 spot on the "this needs to be paid" list, down to about #10. I also advised Ms. Lewis that while it would take me a little while to pay it off, that I would make a payment every opportunity I had. Today I received another bill from Lewis Accounting, this time with a $100 late fee added on to EACH of the tax returns. Nice. I highly recommend avoiding this individual, her business practices, and her company. I was misled from the start after being very clear of what I was able to afford. And this current bill shows the lack of common sense in this organization, if I can't pay the *far out from left field $500 increase* what makes you think I can come up with another $300 in late fees? Especially when the ONLY reason I'm behind on this is because a lie was told from the start. Tsk Tsk! CONSUMER BEWARE!!!

  As the 2013 tax season approaches I assure you I will once again be calling on Lewis Accounting & Tax Services for my tax filing this year. Ameena will walk you through your tax status every step of the way. She and her staff will personally work with you. In all of my years in having my taxes prepared by this company, I have never had any issues with having my questions answered. Response time is quick via phone and/or email. Ameena will explain things thoroughly! You will never feel rushed and will feel like a friend --not just another client.
